Along with the Display XDR, Apple also announced a new version of the standard Studio Display. As before, it comes with a 27-inch 5K Retina display with up to 600 nits of brightness and P3 wide color, either with standard or optional nano-texture glass (a $300 option). However, it now includes an improved 12MP Center Stage camera along with Desk View to show your face and an overhead view of your desk at the same time. You also get a studio-quality three-microphone array and six speaker sound system with Spatial Audio.

AI Dungeon. This is the big one, obviously, and the earliest. The first version was built on GPT-2 in December of 2019. It peaked in popularity in ‘21, and has gradually declined since then. In my view AI Dungeon was always just a lightweight wrapper around the raw text-prediction engine. Most of its appeal was based on the underlying novelty of text-generation per se. I don’t get the sense that “prompt an LLM to tell you an interactive story” is a promising new kind of game people are especially excited about.
Sentiment towards BP and Shell has strengthened significantly off the back of oil price spikes. But it’s a complex picture. Neither company has production in Iran. But BP’s significant production in Iraq and Abu Dhabi risks being bottlenecked through disruption to the Strait of Hormuz. For Shell the same applies to its LNG facilities in Qatar and the Emirates. If a moderate sustainable regime is established in Iran, there is the potential for substantial derisking, and for prices to be rebased downwards. If sanctions are removed, it also opens the door for investment into Iranian oil fields.
